作品說明 CAPTION

此作播放美國詩人威廉.S.布洛斯(William S. Burroughs)所寫的〈切割〉,邀請觀眾在靜止狀態中聆聽參與。作品探討的概念是訴求人類智慧而非人工智慧,聆聽過程中,詩作將漸漸地展現,同時觀眾的微動作會被智慧型手機的攝影鏡頭捕捉,直到頌讀聲完全消失,取而代之的是一抽象的音樂宇宙。此作中文版本以臺語發音,邀請藝術家林鴻文獻聲錄製。

This device broadcasts Cut-ups by the poet William S. Burroughs, and invites the spectator to participate through his stillness in an active listening. The issue of this work appeals more to HI than to AI. Little by little and more and more intelligibly, the diffusion of the poem is revealed. The audience's micro-movements are captured by the smartphone camera until the sound completely disappears, and an abstract, musical universe appears. The artist Hong-Wen LIN has been invited to record in Taiwanese for the Chinese version of this work.

這件作品中的紅球─擺錘刻意被設定為自由狀態直到其動態自然消退,而沒有動力恆定維持。意指此作需要觀眾進入所設定的光圈之中,透過推動紅球,才會產生自然的物理性運動。而紅球擺動的同時,也啟動了一種介於人類和機械之間混種呼吸聲響,人們所有的感知也隨之投射其中。當動態自然消退,聲響逐漸停止,一切的感官又將回到原始自我的狀態。

The movement of the pendulum, which is the red ball, is deliberately left free, without permanent maintenance, until its natural damping. It means that this work requires the audience to enter the light circle and push the red ball to produce natural physical movement. While the red ball is swinging, a hybrid breathing sound between man and machine is generated, into which people’s perception is also projected. When the dynamics subsides naturally, the sound gradually ceases, and all the senses will return to the original state.
